A 64-Key Hotel Finished by One Supplier Complete Project Sourcing Fumiture-ktchen · Bathroom · Doors-Stone
Douala, Cameroon · 6 storeys · 64 keys + all-day dining & lobby |Finishing supplier: COOBUILD · Foshan Xinhehui International Building Materials | Scope: aluminum windows & doors, custom cabinetry, tiles & stone, sanitary ware, curtains & furniture
I had been quoted by eleven suppliers before a friend told me to talk to COOBUILD in Foshan. What convinced me was not the price — although the landed cost came in about 30% below my next best option — it was how the team worked. My project manager, Lily, answered every question before I asked it: she sent finish samples within a week, flagged that our bathroom tiles needed a higher slip rating for a hotel, and re-cut the reception desk drawing twice without complaint until the curve matched the render exactly. When I could not fly to China, she walked me through the showroom on a video call at midnight my time, and the goods still matched what I saw on screen. Everything arrived in three containers, packed so well that not one tile broke, with a packing list I could check crate by crate. When our fitter needed two extra hinge sets, replacements were on the next flight. One supplier, one standard, one WhatsApp thread — that is what a one-stop building materials partner actually means. We are already using COOBUILD for our second hotel in Yaoundé.

A 6-storey, 64-key boutique business hotel in Douala's Bonapriso business district — lobby, all-day dining restaurant, guest floors and back-of-house — delivered as a single finishing package.
Client type: private hotel investor with a local main contractor; interior design by a Douala studio.
Challenge: 14 different trades had quoted 14 uncoordinated specifications. The investorneeded one partner who could match finishes across windows, cabinetry, tiles, sanitary ware and soft furnishings — and stand behind quality from 10,000 km away.
Solution: a whole-hotel finishing package sourced through COOBUILD's Foshan showroom, produced by audited factories, inspected before loading, and shipped in planned mixed containers to Douala port.

"I don't know the supplier — how do I verify them?" The investor toured the 15,000㎡ building materials showroom in Foshan, reviewed licences and export records, and later brought his project manager. Buyers who cannot travel take the same tour by live video call on WhatsApp. (Book a Showroom Visit →)
"Photos look good — will the goods match?" Physical samples of every finish were couriered and approved before production; each production batch was checked against the signed sample.
"Can everything ship together?" Yes — mixed containers combined cabinets, tiles, sanitary ware and furniture. Roughly one 40ft high-cube covered the finishes for 8–10 keys; loading plans were agreed in advance so heavy tiles sit at the bottom and millwork is crated.
"Will local workers manage the installation?" Cabinetry shipped flat-packed with numbered panels, assembly drawings and a hardware schedule; windows included shop drawings and fixing details; the COOBUILD team stayed on WhatsApp with the site foreman through installation.
"What if something arrives damaged or the wrong size?" Pre-shipment photos and video documented every crate; a spare-parts allowance (panels, hinges, tiles) shipped with the order, and replacement parts are stocked for two years.
